Over the last few months, I saw The Five-Minute Journal advertised on social media and I considered purchasing it but never did. So, while on a trip to Miami my husband and I were shopping in Urban Outfitters and of course when I stumbled upon it I knew I had to have it. A journal that it will only take me five minutes to complete is a win-win. It is so me to walk into a clothing, hardware of any kind of store and find a book. I genuinely enjoy anything that will help to make me the best version of myself. I started writing in a gratitude journal several months ago but was not consistent, so I never made it a habit. The amazing thing about The Five-Minute Journal are the prompts. Each day there is a quote to use for inspiration which I love. I try to use it as motivation to see life in a new way. In the morning upon awakening, I write 3 things I am grateful for, 3 things that would make the day great and a daily affirmation. At night, I write 3 amazing things that happened to me that day and also how I could have made today even better. I simply love this thing! It keeps me accountable and consistent with writing in it and I actually look forward to it. I find it so easy to be grateful for the big flashy things but with this journal, each day the thing that I am grateful for becomes more and more simple which is what I strive for. I want life to be as simple as possible. Previously I struggled with being consistent in my journaling practice. I wake up super early in the morning, so to think I will complete my morning yoga, meditation and journaling was a bit ambitious and unrealistic for my life. This journal has completely changed that and I love that it literally only takes 5 minutes or less to complete. I feel so accomplished after I do it. Although I do write in a standard journal, this one is an amazing addition if you have limited time and it ensures you are writing something daily. Journaling is so good for you and has many benefits. It helps with minfulness, achieving goals, emotional intelligence, strengthens self discipline, and sparks creativity. If you are new to journaling, this is definitely a good gateway journal to get into the rhythm.
