DAY 7: DEATH OF OLD SELF
ASANA: CORPSE POSE/SAVASANA
BIBLE VERSE: He is not here; he has risen! (Luke 24:6 NIV)
DEVOTION: What is a sacrifice and how often do we truly sacrifice? When I gave birth to my children is when I truly began to understand what a sacrifice was. There is nothing that I wouldn’t give up so that my children can have what is needed. Shortly after, I began to understand the sacrifices my mother made for myself and my siblings. My mother didn’t have an easy adult life and she always made it look effortless. She endured many things that I in my adulthood am only beginning to understand. With every obstacle thrown in her direction, she never gave up. When I think of the unconditional love that she has for us I thank God for a mother who is strong enough to withstand life’s trials and tribulations . If she loved and sacrificed for us it’s overwhelming to think of the love that Christ had for us as he died on the cross. He made the ultimate sacrifice. I begin to question, what sacrifices am I willing to make to show my gratitude for Him giving his life? I want to live a life that is honoring and pleasing to God. Each day I will ask myself “What are you doing today that is a personal sacrifice to show gratitude for Jesus Christ being crucified on the cross?”
JOURNAL INSPIRATION: What does Christ dying on the cross mean to you? Do you feel you make a sacrifice for Jesus as he did for you?
MEDITATION: Jesus died for my sins and I am eternally grateful.
