DAY 4: NO MOUNTAIN TOO HIGH
ASANA: MOUNTAIN POSE/TADASANA
BIBLE VERSE: I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. (Psalms 121:1-2 NIV)
DEVOTION: From a very small child, I was independent and strong-willed. Now that I have two children of my own, I often ask, “Where did these two strong-willed children come from?” My mother politely reminds me of my endeavors as a child. I am very goal driven, focused, routine-oriented and structured. I love to plan my life which in turn makes me feel that I have control of it. Order gives me a feeling of safety and security. I heard the saying “If you want God to laugh, make a plan.” As an adult, I have learned that only God knows the perfect plan for my life. I cannot rely on myself because God who sees all and knows all is a master at navigating my life. I have learned to let go of the control I desire to have by looking to him for guidance because he is the ultimate architect of my life. Most importantly, I have grown to realize the power in surrender. When I need advice, I call to my heavenly father and he always delivers. It is not always on my timing but it is the perfect timing. I challenge you to let go of any fear or anxiety, for he will never fail you and will always be your safe haven. “Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9 NIV).
JOURNAL INSPIRATION: Who do you look to for help? Can you let your guards down to give God complete control of you life? What would life look like in complete surrender?
MEDITATION: I am safe in God’s arms and he will provide everything I need.
