ASANA: HUMBLE WARRIOR/BADDHA VIRABHADRASANA
BIBLE VERSE: Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. (Ephesians 6:11 NIV)
DEVOTIONAL: We make choices every day, hour, minute and second. We make decisions on what foods to eat, beverages to drink and clothing to wear. We are naturally passive decision makers. As Christians, we have chosen to be warriors for God, but what exactly does that look like? Generally, a warrior is perceived as an aggressive and fearless individual on a particular mission. Conversely, God’s warriors are passionate about his purpose and exhibit the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 NIV). When the enemy comes up against us, we must remember that our commander in chief is one of peace and love. As warriors of God it is important to remember that the God we serve will never give us more than we can bare. We as warriors of God do not fight battles, he does. God has willed us to love each other and give our burdens to him. For he is the ultimate warrior and protector of his children. In 2 Chronicles 20:15 NIRV, The Lord says to you “Do not be afraid. Do not lose hope because of this huge army. The battle is not yours, It is mine.”
JOURNAL INSPIRATION: What battles are you fighting that don’t belong to you? What does being a warrior for God mean to you? What characteristics do you exhibit that God would find pleasing and/or displeasing about your spirit as his warrior?
MEDITATION: I am God’s warrior and I surrender to his will.
